Build a pipeline of high-impact partnerships that help OpenAI participate meaningfully in culture, reach priority audiences, and demonstrate the positive role AI can play in people’s lives.
Evaluate partnership opportunities based on audience relevance, values alignment, cultural credibility, creative potential, and long-term brand impact.
Serve as the primary marketing lead for key partners, building trusted relationships and guiding programs from initial opportunity through strategy, negotiation, development, and execution.
Shape the strategic and creative vision for partnerships, developing distinctive programs, campaigns, content, events, experiences, and activations that feel authentic to both OpenAI and its partners.
Work closely with Partnerships, Brand, Creative, Communications, Global Affairs, Research, Legal, and regional teams to identify opportunities and bring partnership programs to life.
Help define the role OpenAI should play across culture, including entertainment, sports, design, education, science, the arts, and other areas relevant to the audiences we want to reach.
Identify and cultivate relationships with influential individuals and institutions whose credibility, expertise, or cultural relevance can help bring OpenAI’s values and impact to life.
Develop clear partnership narratives and value propositions that articulate why OpenAI and a prospective partner should work together and what each party uniquely contributes.
Protect OpenAI’s brand integrity by establishing clear principles for partner selection, creative development, and execution.
Create scalable frameworks for identifying, evaluating, prioritizing, and managing partnership opportunities across markets and cultural categories.
Define success measures for brand partnerships, using audience, brand, cultural, and engagement signals to assess impact and inform future investment.
Translate cultural trends, audience insights, and program performance into recommendations that continuously improve OpenAI’s partnership strategy.
Requirements
Have 12+ years of experience in brand partnerships, cultural marketing, strategic partnerships, integrated marketing, entertainment or sports marketing, or a related field.
Have a proven track record developing partnerships that strengthened a brand’s cultural relevance, expanded its reach, or built credibility with important audiences.
Bring strong cultural fluency and a clear point of view on the people, institutions, platforms, and ideas shaping culture.
Have excellent brand judgment and can assess opportunities based on values alignment, audience relevance, authenticity, creative potential, and long-term brand impact.
Are skilled at identifying partnership opportunities and turning an initial idea or shared ambition into a compelling strategy and program.
Have experience developing campaigns, content, events, experiences, and activations with external partners.
Can build trusted relationships with influential individuals, creators, organizations, and institutions, while aligning stakeholders with different priorities.
Can translate OpenAI’s mission, values, and work into partnership ideas that feel relevant and authentic rather than transactional or overly promotional.
Have strong verbal and written communication skills and are comfortable influencing senior stakeholders internally and externally.
