As a Business Development Manager for Tandem DeutschConnect, you and a Junior Partnership Manager are jointly responsible for establishing and maintaining partnerships with educational institutions and further developing our community.
Independently achieve monthly and quarterly partnership and growth targets (e.g., number of active partners, redemption of invitation codes, app usage through partners).
Full ownership of outcomes — from pipeline generation through closing partnerships to activation and ongoing performance.
Closely monitor performance, identify gaps, and proactively adjust strategy and execution to meet or exceed targets.
Build scalable processes and playbooks to continuously improve efficiency and results.
Proactively identify, prioritize, and acquire partners from integration course providers, language schools, job centers, student services (Studierendenwerke), and university language centers offering German-as-a-foreign-language programs.
Manage the entire sales cycle from A to Z: prospecting, outreach, pitching, negotiation, and closing.
Clearly communicate Tandem DeutschConnect’s value across all channels (email, phone, in-person, and online meetings) with a strong focus on conversion.
Deliver effective trainings for teachers and institutional partners to ensure they understand how to redeem invitation codes and successfully integrate Tandem into their programs.
Ensure fast and effective onboarding that leads to immediate usage and measurable results.
Actively track partner activation and engagement and intervene when performance is below expectations.
Maintain a high-quality, up-to-date pipeline of prospects and active partners in the CRM independently.
Serve as the primary point of contact for partners with a strong focus on increasing usage, retention, and expansion.
Regularly review partner performance and identify growth opportunities per account (more users, deeper integration, additional programs).
Set clear expectations with partners when necessary to ensure mutual success.

Benefits
Passion for languages: We’re a team of 30 people who collectively speak 20 languages fluently.
Dive deep: As a Tandem team member you receive a budget for up to 6 “Deep Dive Days” per year. Pick a topic you’ve always wanted to explore for your professional development—then book a cabin in the woods or whatever suits your personal learning style.
Teams that train together stay together: We offer Urban Sports Club memberships to support the physical and mental health of our team. We also subsidize your monthly public transport pass.
It takes a team to Tandem: Connecting with colleagues outside day-to-day work is important to us. We organize regular team events: day trips, monthly lunches, summer barbecues, and movie nights.
Balance matters: Life isn’t all about work. We know when to mute Slack notifications, recharge, and make time for personal hobbies. As remote work has become the new normal for some of us, it’s even more important to be able to switch off and relax.
Modern family: As part of our family-friendly philosophy, we offer flexible working hours, welcome families at our events, and enjoy it when children visit the office and experience life at Tandem.
Remote with team spirit: Enjoy the flexibility of a fully remote position within Germany while still benefiting from in-person interaction. For regular team days and workshops you’ll come to Berlin to work with the team and experience our culture first-hand. Travel and accommodation are covered by us.
