They are seeking a Thermal Analysis Engineer for their Generation IV Nuclear Reactor Project, where the role involves performing thermal model development and conducting evaluations to optimize design configurations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform thermal model development and/or model modification evaluating thermal profiles of various structural configurations and providing recommendations for modification or optimization
- Conduct non-record thermal evaluations of configurations and joints to assess areas of challenge or potential design improvements
- Develop and modify local thermal models, evaluate component-level issues, and provide technical insights and feedback to design teams to support engineering decisions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related accredited engineering program
- 5–10 years of relevant experience performing mechanical and thermal analyses, including high-temperature applications
- Experience with thermal modeling of fluid-structure interfaces, including conductive, convective, and radiative heat transfer
- Experience with ASME BPVC Section III, Division 1 requirements
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or advanced degree in a relevant engineering discipline
