Univar Solutions is a leading global distributor of chemicals and ingredients essential to safety and health. The Sr Business Development Manager will contribute to growth strategies and manage projects within the Nutraceutical product portfolio, working closely with suppliers and internal teams to drive business growth and implement successful programs.
Responsibilities:
- Be accountable for providing & prioritizing Initiatives to drive revenue and volume growth
- Be responsible for developing sales/marketing strategies to deliver short-term success where segments allow, and to build long-term strategic growth opportunities
- Act as focal point inside Univar Solutions and with key suppliers
- Manage processes to ensure Univar Solutions can market new chemicals from new and existing vendors
- Conduct/schedule product specific training, in conjunction with the manufacturer, and target training to the appropriate sales personnel based on market segment involvement
- Participate in M&A initiatives and ingredients evaluation
- Develop successful and trusted partnerships with regional teams to develop strategies to drive profitable volume growth
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) and demonstrated experience in a related technical field associated with key markets
- Successful experience (5 years minimum) in pharma, food or nutraceutical markets. Exposure to and understanding of distribution business
- Minimum 5 years' experience in establishing strong supplier relationships and account management
- 5 years of leadership experience in the chemical industry with proven financial acumen, analytical skills, and contract negotiations
- Demonstrate strong financial acumen, project orientation, analytical and financial interpretation skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated across all levels in organization, as well as with external customers
- Experience in establishing strong supplier relationships and in negotiating with senior business managers
- High level of decision-making expertise, balancing customer needs with company requirements
- Projects a professional and positive image both inside and outside of the company
- MBA Desired but not required
- Project Management Certification (PMP) Desired but not required
