Complete Genomics is a company focused on advancing spatial genomics products within oncology. The Business Development Manager will drive commercial growth by identifying opportunities, managing KOL relationships, and overseeing the sales cycle for Stereo-seq products in oncology-focused accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Owning oncology business development: Identify, pursue, and close revenue-generating opportunities for Stereo-seq within oncology-focused accounts across academia, translational research, biotech, and pharma
- Driving product adoption and sales: Expand adoption of Stereo-seq spatial products in the oncology field through direct customer engagement, deal ownership, and strategic account planning
- Establishing and leveraging KOL relationships: Identify, develop, and manage key opinion leaders to drive credibility, influence purchasing decisions, and accelerate product sales
- Managing the full sales cycle: Lead opportunities from initial outreach and scientific discussion through pilots, negotiations, contract execution, and post-sale expansion
- Positioning Stereo-seq competitively: Articulate scientific differentiation and commercial value in tumor biology, immuno-oncology, and translational cancer research settings
- Engaging customers at a senior level: Build and maintain strong relationships with oncologists, pathologists, core directors, translational researchers, and procurement stakeholders
- Collaborating cross-functionally: Work closely with Marketing, Scientific Support, R&D, and Operations to ensure smooth onboarding, delivery, and customer success after deal close
- Tracking pipeline and performance: Maintain accurate pipeline reporting, provide regular business updates, and consistently deliver against quarterly and annual revenue targets
Requirements:
- 2+ years of business development, sales, or commercial experience in oncology-focused life sciences
- Demonstrated training, experience, or commercial success in oncology, cancer biology, or translational research environments
- Working knowledge of single-cell and spatial genomics technologies
- Proven ability to engage, influence, and close with scientific and institutional stakeholders
- Experience supporting or closing complex, high-value opportunities
- Master's degree or PhD in oncology, cancer biology, immunology, genomics, or a related life sciences field
- Experience at companies such as 10x Genomics, Bio-Techne (ACD/Lunaphore), Takara Bio (Curio Bioscience), Bruker Spatial, or similar organizations
- Prior engagement with pharma, translational research groups, or cancer centers
