Sartorius is a global life science company seeking a Field Application Specialist for their Fluid Management Technologies portfolio. The role involves supporting the sales organization and customers in Texas, Colorado, and Kansas by providing product expertise, technical support, and training to ensure successful application and implementation of their products.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Sales organization with customer discussions on existing products through product presentations, demonstrations, trials, application studies/demos as well as troubleshooting and cGMP manufacturing support for the Fluid Management Technologies portfolio which consists mainly of 2D & 3D Storage solutions, mixing systems, transfers and connections, aseptic transfer systems, and freeze and thaw technologies
- Support new products through close collaboration with beta site testing, product demonstrations/discussions and information gathering
- Support Sales in the customer process, URS analysis & technical response, and lead customer evaluations to help position products in line with the application requirements
- Strategize with assigned Account Managers to generate value-adding activities according to customer and business need
- Assist the Company by occasionally supporting the training of other field Application Specialists and the Sales organization on assigned technologies and/or processes
- Provide technical qualifications of sales opportunities to ensure appropriate positioning of technology within the customer application
- Ensure training of customers on new technologies and support initial start-up operations as well as ensure/assist in internal training opportunities for self and colleagues
- Support regional marketing initiatives
- Support Quality Department in the quality complaint process by troubleshooting and analyzing customers processes for better investigation and resolution
- Support the development of strong relationships with accounts within the assigned sales territory
- Report on a competitor’s product implementation & presence within the territory by feedback to the Application Services and Product Management Team
- Monthly report on territory activity for management
- Occasional overnight travel will be required to support customers / sales, to attend organizational meetings and trainings will be required (~50%). This travel requirement is subject to change based on customer and internal business need such as customer support and internal meetings and training
Requirements:
- BSc degree in biochemical engineering, chemical engineering, or biotechnology with a minimum of 3+ years biopharmaceutical industry experience within MSAT, cGMP Manufacturing and/or Tech Transfer teams
- or MSc degree in biochemical engineering, chemical engineering, or biotechnology with a minimum of 1+ years biopharmaceutical industry experience within MSAT, cGMP Manufacturing and/or Tech Transfer teams
- or PhD
- Proven knowledge of biopharmaceutical industry including biologics process development
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- Ability to lift up to 30lbs safely due to the requirement to handle equipment
- Computer proficient in Windows-based software package including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Product and application expertise across modalities as well as single use technology experience highly valued
- Effectively interface with product/project/division management
- Interaction at various levels (sales, technical, end-users, leaders) within our internal structure as well as our customers
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Self-motivated and a self-starter; strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize projects and multitask at high level of efficiency
