National Research Group is a leading global insights and strategy firm at the confluence of content, culture, and technology. They are seeking a strategic and innovative Vice President to lead and grow their research partnership with a major technology platform, focusing on how users engage with content.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end primary research initiatives – from proposal through delivery – to answer brand, audience, product and strategic business questions
- Drive projects that inform product evolution, content and communication strategy, as well as platform positioning, with visibility to very senior client stakeholders
- Conduct and synthesize qualitative and quantitative research, with a particular emphasis on usage of advanced methods (e.g. segmentations, conjoint, discrete choice modeling, pricing studies and market sizing)
- Translate data into actionable, visual, story-driven deliverables that inspire decisions and drive growth
- Partner closely with senior client stakeholders to ensure insights are directly connected to business impact
- Develop and nurture deep, trusted relationships with client partners, serving as a strategic advisor and building a deep understanding of their business, priorities, and challenges to ensure their needs are met with insight and impact
- Mentor and lead a team of talented researchers; delegate effectively while maintaining high-quality standards
- Actively contribute to thought leadership, proposal development and new business initiatives
Requirements:
- 8+ years' experience working in consumer insights, strategy or analytics – preferably within media, tech or consulting
- Supplier-side experience is required
- Ideally looking for a B.A./B.S. degree in areas such as Social Sciences, Business, Marketing, Market Research, Statistics, Economics or a related field
- An enthusiasm for research, data driven approaches, and strategic thinking
- Experience in handling complex client issues, providing well-informed strategic counsel, at times under tight time
- Expert-level understanding and experience with a range of complex qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
- Proven experience nurturing and building relationships with clients, confidently providing strategic guidance to them
- You are excited about proactively driving new business opportunities
- You have a well-developed research acumen and can lead and develop a team
- You are genuinely interested in seeking information on the 'whys.'
- Strong writing skills where you can craft a story around data insights and clearly communicate key points in a succinct, impactful manner
- Experience with interpreting advanced methods such as correlation analysis, multivariate analysis techniques (such as cluster/segmentation analysis), conjoint, market sizing, pricing and discrete choice analysis
- Internally-motivated who continuously strives to get things done well, regardless of challenges encountered
- Successfully manages time and multiple competing priorities to ensure deadlines are always met
