Excelion Partners is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead high-priority enterprise initiatives focused on data modernization and infrastructure transformation. This role acts as a critical bridge between technical engineering teams and senior business leadership, ensuring that data-centric projects remain on track and aligned with strategic goals.
Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Delivery: You will drive large-scale data programs from initiation through implementation; this includes managing project artifacts, budget forecasting, and resource allocation across the board
- Technical Facilitation: You’ll lead architecture reviews and work closely with Data Engineers or Architects to validate timelines; you need to be able to challenge unrealistic engineering estimates and manage project dependencies effectively
- Stakeholder Management: Serving as the primary point of contact for diverse groups, including IT, Security, Compliance, and various Business Units; you will translate technical design decisions into plain-language updates for executive sponsors
- Risk & Issue Management: We need someone who can proactively identify data-specific risks, such as data quality surprises, schema drift, or ingestion complexities; you’ll then develop the mitigation plans needed to keep the wheels turning
- Change Management: You will support the adoption of new data tools and models; it’s about making sure business partners are actually prepared for the transition to modernized platforms
- Methodology Oversight: You'll utilize a blend of Waterfall and Agile (Scrum/SAFe) methodologies; this often involves serving as an Epic Owner for technical workstreams to ensure delivery excellence
Requirements:
- At least 3–5 years of experience in a high-volume, highly regulated transactional environment
- 3–5 years of experience leading enterprise-level projects, specifically in Data Lake implementations, Cloud Migrations (Azure/AWS/GCP), or Enterprise Analytics transformations
- Demonstrate a strong conceptual understanding of Data Lake vs. Data Warehouse semantics; ETL/ELT pipelines; structured vs. unstructured data; and Data Governance or MDM concepts
- A Bachelor's degree is required
- Proficiency in MS Project, Azure DevOps (ADO), Smartsheet, or similar PPM tools is expected
- PMP, CAPM, or Agile certifications (PMI-ACP, CSM) are highly preferred, or at least a willingness to get certified within the first year
