OSP Project Manager

Black Box is a global leader in IT solutions, dedicated to shaping the digital backbone of tomorrow. The OSP Project Manager will oversee the construction of a large data center, managing day-to-day operations and ensuring project deliverables and timelines are met.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day operations by applying established PMO standards, processes, and methodologies
• Drive excellence, safety, and innovation on-site — setting new benchmarks for what’s possible in modern data center deployment

Requirements:

• Must be proficient and well-practiced in leveraging information and data in making informed decisions
• Extensive knowledge of Safety protocols, processes and procedures
• Deep understanding of industry specific estimating and engineering best practices
• Ability to identify change events and implement change management best practices
• Knowledge of various construction technology platforms, quality, and safety standards
• Solid understanding of construction accounting principles and cost forecasting
• Able to report and read out project information to all stakeholders as needed or required
• Ability to develop and manage project schedules
• Demonstrated professionalism and ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others
• Ability to work under time constraints and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
• Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills, including excellent customer service skills
• Ability to effectively present to small and large groups
• Disciplined, detail oriented, organized, and self-driven
• Demonstrated skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
• Demonstrated ability to resolve complex problems, conflicts, and issues
• Proficient in using a computer and business / industry applications - Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.), Bluebeam, Procore, Textura and others
• Bachelor's Degree Construction Management, Engineering or other related discipline. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in the construction industry in management or leadership role. Experience overseeing and managing large structured cabling projects and/or data center construction projects highly preferred
• Experienced in managing all contracting and project delivery methods - lump sum / fixed price, cost plus, GMP, unit price / rate, design-build, time and material
• OSHA-30 Hour certification (if not certified at time of hire, certifications must be obtained within first six (6) months of employment)
• BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)
• BICSI Registered Telecommunications Project Manager (RTPM)
• PMI Project Management Professional (PMP)
