Office Practicum is focused on generating new business opportunities in the healthcare sector. The Business Development Representative (BDR) will engage prospective healthcare practices through outbound lead generation and qualify inbound leads to support the sales team.
Responsibilities:
- Research and identify target healthcare practices through outbound activities, including phone calls, emails, prospect lists, LinkedIn outreach, and events like webinars and trade shows
- Qualify inbound leads from marketing campaigns, ensuring they meet established criteria before routing to the sales team
- Engage prospects in meaningful conversations to understand their challenges and needs, positioning the company’s solutions appropriately
- Maintain a steady pipeline of qualified opportunities for the sales team to pursue
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to refine outreach strategies, messaging, and targeting based on feedback and results
- Accurately document activities, lead status, and pipeline progress in the CRM system
- Consistently achieve or exceed weekly and monthly activity, qualification, and pipeline creation goals
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitive offerings, and strong knowledge of the company’s products and services to effectively communicate value to prospects and facilitate the sales process
- Participate in daily huddles and weekly reporting calls with the Growth + Revenue Marketing Manager to discuss the number of leads and opportunities generated by the team
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 2-4 years of experience in a BDR, SDR, inside sales, or business development role OR demonstrated success in outbound prospecting and lead qualification
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect and build trust quickly
- Experience with cold calling or demonstrated ability of confidence in speaking English
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, stay organized, and maintain attention to detail, with a strong focus on project and time management skills
- Comfort with high-volume outbound activity and persistence in reaching decision-makers
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal coaching
- Entrepreneurial, with the ability to conduct customer research to grow your own pipeline
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Track record of consistently meeting or exceeding pipeline generation goals
- Experience in healthcare or healthcare IT strongly preferred
- Familiarity with CRM platforms is a plus (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar)
