Senior Business Analyst (SME)

North South Consulting Group, LLC provides functional and technical expertise to support mission-critical Department of Defense (DoD) systems. The SME Business Analyst serves as the primary liaison between stakeholders and technical teams while leading requirements analysis and business process improvement activities within a secure AWS GovCloud environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide functional and technical expertise to support mission-critical Department of Defense (DoD) casualty and personnel systems across the full system lifecycle
• Serve as the primary liaison between functional stakeholders, program leadership, and technical teams to ensure system capabilities align with operational requirements, statutory reporting needs, and user expectations
• Lead requirements analysis, business process improvement, data validation, and user engagement activities supporting system modernization, cloud migration, and ongoing operations within a secure AWS GovCloud environment
• Operate within an Agile and DevSecOps framework and support compliance with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), cybersecurity requirements, and Zero Trust principles

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 8–10 years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting enterprise IT systems
• Experience eliciting and documenting functional and technical requirements
• Experience supporting Agile software development and DevSecOps environments
• Experience conducting business process analysis and developing workflow documentation
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience with data analysis, reporting requirements, and system integration projects
• Familiarity with cloud-based enterprise systems and modern application architectures
• Knowledge of DoD or federal IT environments and compliance frameworks
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
• U.S. Citizenship required
• Active DoD Secret clearance
• Experience supporting DoD casualty, personnel, or mission-support systems
• Experience supporting systems hosted in AWS GovCloud (IL2–IL5)
• Familiarity with RMF, NIST 800-53, and ATO documentation support
• Experience supporting data migration and legacy system modernization initiatives
• Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture and secure data handling practices
• Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, or similar)
• Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), PMI-PBA, or equivalent certification
• Security+ or other DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification (preferred)
• Experience facilitating user training and change management activities
