Sabel Systems Technology Solutions is a digital engineering and Defense technology partner seeking a Solutions Engineer to collaborate with various teams in delivering secure, scalable solutions. The role involves leading market research, competitive analysis, and developing technical capability roadmaps to align customer demand with product strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Lead applied digital engineering strategy across MBSE, digital thread/digital twin, and enterprise data interoperability
- Define and standardize scalable open architecture patterns aligned to Air Force frameworks such as Open Mission Systems
- Develop repeatable solution playbooks and architectural reference patterns that enable expansion across programs without brittle integrations
- Translate mission-thread needs (operational, sustainment, readiness) into executable engineering and data use cases
- Maintain deep expertise in Air Force enterprise PLM, configuration control, and authoritative data environments
- Ensure digital thread continuity across lifecycle phases, reinforcing Air Force expectations for data authority and governance
- Provide credible technical influence with government engineers, integrators, and acquisition leadership
- Conduct strategic market research and competitive assessments to inform product vision
- Partner with the CPO and business units to define value propositions and roadmap alignment
- Support pre-sales solutioning, customer discovery, proposal development, and executive briefings
- Translate market and customer needs into functional requirements and architectural roadmaps
- Produce technical papers, business cases, and executive decision materials
- Govern Sabel's intellectual property lifecycle (creation, baseline, change control, release, archival)
- Establish and enforce enterprise CM standards, versioning guidelines, and release control gates
- Ensure secure repositories, digital asset inventories, and compliance with audit requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems engineering, solution architecture, business architecture, or product strategy roles
- Experience supporting DoD digital engineering initiatives, PLM/MBE/MBSE environments, enterprise integration efforts, or acquisition programs
- Hands-on experience with configuration management and repository tools (e.g., Git, SharePoint, PLM platforms, Nexus, Sonatype, Grafana, or similar technologies)
- Proven success in architecting enterprise-scale solutions and developing scalable, repeatable offerings within federal or DoD environments
- Demonstrated leadership in pre-sales strategy, customer engagement, requirements shaping, and proposal solutioning
- Ability to translate mission objectives and market demands into enterprise architecture roadmaps, technical baselines, and capability strategies
- Experience delivering executive-level briefings, white papers, technical strategies, and investment decision support materials
- Strong cross-functional leadership across engineering, cybersecurity, cloud, product management, and delivery teams
- Deep expertise in Configuration Management (CM), including baseline governance, Change Control Boards (CCB), release management, and audit readiness
- Experience governing controlled digital assets and intellectual property within secure, compliance-driven environments
- Strong understanding of version control, baseline management, and IP governance best practices
- Experience supporting audits, compliance reviews, and contractual governance requirements in regulated environments
- U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance is required
- Master's degree
- Experience with DoD Digital Engineering Strategy, MBSE tools, PLM platforms, or AAF
- Experience supporting product management or digital product lines
