The Director, Global Business Development will lead ClassLink’s international growth strategy, focusing on expanding the company’s presence in key global markets by developing strategic partnerships and managing government relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute ClassLink’s international business development strategy
- Identify and prioritize target markets based on regulatory environment, funding structures, and digital transformation initiatives
- Conduct market analysis to inform pricing, positioning, and partnership strategies
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Ministries of Education, regional education authorities, and government stakeholders
- Lead strategic discussions related to national or regional digital access initiatives, identity management, and interoperability frameworks
- Navigate public procurement processes, tenders, and RFP submissions
- Identify and negotiate partnerships with distributors, resellers, system integrators, and technology providers
- Structure channel agreements and joint go-to-market strategies
- Represent ClassLink at international education and government forums
- Drive international revenue growth and pipeline development aligned with company goals
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Legal teams to localize offerings where appropriate
- Monitor performance metrics and adjust strategy to meet growth targets
- Work closely with product teams to align roadmap priorities with international market needs
- Provide feedback on compliance, localization, and regulatory requirements (e.g., data privacy, hosting, security standards)
- Support international customer success and implementation efforts as needed
Requirements:
- 8–12+ years of experience in business development, international sales, or strategic partnerships
- Demonstrated success expanding technology solutions into international markets
- Experience working within K–12 education technology ecosystems
- Proven track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally (30–50%)
- Direct experience working with Ministries of Education or national-level education authorities
- Experience responding to international tenders and government procurement processes
- Background in identity management, cybersecurity, edtech platforms, or SaaS solutions
- Established international education network and government relationships
- Multilingual capabilities are a plus
