Bank Iowa is a leading independent agricultural bank dedicated to community engagement and financial excellence. The Business Development Manager plays a crucial role in driving the growth of the bank's loan and deposit portfolios by developing new client relationships and promoting the bank’s services within the agricultural and commercial sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, acquire, and expand new loan and deposit relationships with agricultural and business prospects, typically involving credit needs in the range of $2MM to $25MM
- Manage the entire sales process, including prospect prioritization, initial outreach, pursuit strategy development, and proposal creation to secure new client relationships
- Create and leverage sales opportunities by partnering with regional Relationship Managers, Customer Service Representatives, and Cash Management teams to cross-sell appropriate banking products and services
- Promote the bank’s lending and financial services within the community, enhancing the bank’s relevance and visibility among prospective clients
- Develop and implement targeted marketing and prospecting strategies to generate new business opportunities and strengthen existing relationships
- Partner with regional teams to ensure smooth onboarding, transition, and ongoing management of new clients, fostering long-term relationships that support the bank’s growth goals
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of banking products, market trends, and competitors to effectively position Bank Iowa’s offerings
- Participate in community events and networking opportunities to enhance the bank’s presence and reputation within local markets
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in business, finance, or a related field
- Applicants should have more than seven years of experience working within a financial institution or loan office setting, demonstrating a strong track record in business development and client relationship management
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and demonstrate a proactive approach to prospecting and relationship building
- Deep knowledge of agricultural and commercial lending products, along with a thorough understanding of credit analysis and risk management
