BeOne Medicines is a rapidly growing company focused on fighting cancer. They are seeking an Associate Director of Business Development & Alliance Management Finance to provide analytical support for decision making, reporting, and forecasting related to M&A and partnerships.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with business development to evaluate external opportunities, conduct due diligence and financial modelling for evaluating the business/investment case
- Serve as the finance lead for BD transactions and be responsible for engaging the broader finance organization in executing transactions
- Coordinate payment processes for executed transactions and support post-deal activities
- Track and forecast expected milestones under BeOne’s existing collaborations and work with treasury and accounting functions to ensure payments are accrued and processed on time
- Track and manage reporting on our portfolio of external early-stage equity investments
- Establish financial processes to support investment analysis for BeOne’s corporate venture activities, evaluate potential partnerships for BeOne’s Global Development Superhighway, and ongoing operational support
- Support corporate FP&A processes for quarterly reporting, forecasting and long-range financial planning
- Responsibility for business development & alliance management forecasting and reporting
- Provide benchmarking support for FP&A, investor relations or business development transactions as needed
- Support process improvement and documentation work to improve efficiency and alignment within the finance organization and with business partners
Requirements:
- 8+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, big 4 transaction advisory, corporate finance, corporate development or consulting, with a focus on the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
- Bachelors' or Masters' degree in Finance/Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Strong excel and financial modelling skills, including but not limited to discounted cash flow valuation, 3-statement financial models, venture capital investment valuation, transaction and financing comps
- Experience with transactional legal documents such as term sheets, license agreements, asset/share purchase agreements, credit agreements and corporate equity investment documents
- Strong computer software skills (Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with financial/pharmaceutical databases such as CapitalIQ, Biomedtracker/Evaluate
- Excellent analytical and critical-thinking: employs a critical eye to challenge inputs and assumptions, comfortable with ambiguity and can act without having the complete picture
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including ability to synthesize data and deliver clear financial analyses to business partners and executives
- Proven ability to execute and perform autonomously in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent in written and verbal English
