Guardiar is a manufacturer of Hard Armor Plates for personal ballistic protection, and they are seeking a Sales Representative to drive growth within assigned customer accounts and expand their market. The role involves locating, developing, and closing sales opportunities, engaging with various agencies, and coordinating with internal teams to manage customer expectations and sales forecasts.
Responsibilities:
- Locate, develop, and close sales opportunities within assigned territories
- Understand the key features, specifications, certifications regarding Hesco Armor products at a level that can be presented effectively to customers
- Locate or propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners and negotiating relationships with new or current distributors
- Attend industry trade shows and interact with potential partners, customers, and end users; effectively present products in an open forum; track/manage leads
- Engagement with Local/State/Municipal/Federal agencies; prospect new customers/end users through phone, email, meetings, or travel as needed; present Hesco Armor products/solutions
- Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential and financials; evaluate options, conduct risk assessments
- Work with the sales team and sales manager to forecast sales through pipeline management and manage potential channel conflicts effectively
- Respond to formal Requests for Quotes (RFQ), Request for Proposals (RFP), and other customer or end user required documents
- Actively coordinate with the factory for lead time estimates, shipping estimates, and capacity constraints to set expectations for customers and contracts
- Work diligently with internal compliance teams as needed regarding sales, exports, contracts, etc
- Maintain a book of business, track open orders and deliveries, ensure payment reconciliation, communicate promptly and efficiently with customers throughout the process
- Complete periodic assessments of distributor performance and design improvement plans for those not meeting expectations
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; read professional publications; maintain personal networks; and understand product certification requirements (NIJ 0101.06/0101.07)
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in sales
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Competence with Microsoft Office Suite
- Capable of independent operation in a fast-paced environment
- 5+ years of experience with sales in LE/Military industry
- Experience in body armor sales
- Experience in State/Local/Federal Contracting process
- Understanding of ITAR/EAR laws
- Understanding of NIJ 0101.07/0101.06
