This role ensures accurate payroll processing, compliance with local labour and tax regulations, and seamless integration with finance and HR systems. Acting as a subject matter expert, the specialist supports regional payroll governance, drives process improvements, and provides guidance to junior staff.
• Lead end-to-end payroll processing for APAC countries, co-ordinate with external consultants to run payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain compliance with local statutory requirements in India, Singapore, Japan, and China, including tax filings, social security, and labour law obligations.
• Partner with HR and Finance teams to reconcile payroll data and ensure accurate general ledger postings.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll audits and statutory inspections.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy across regional payroll operations.
• Provide expert guidance to employees and internal stakeholders on payroll policies and country-specific regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, HR, or related field.
• 3-5 years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or regional role.
• Strong knowledge of India, Singapore CPF regulations, Japan’s social insurance and tax laws, and China’s social security and IIT (Individual Income Tax) requirements.
• Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Oracle, GreytHR) and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience in multinational payroll operations across APAC.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-border teams.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multi-country payroll complexities.
