Kontron is a global leader in Internet of Things (IoT) and Embedded Computing Technology (ECT). The role involves providing technical support for broadband access solutions, serving as a bridge between the company and its customers during pre-sales and post-sales activities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide pre-sales technical support to service providers, including delivering product presentations, designing solutions, and preparing technical proposals
- Lead proof-of-concept (PoC) trials, conduct lab evaluations, and demonstrate broadband access equipment in field environments
- Assist customers with network design, integration, and interoperability testing, ensuring seamless compatibility with OSS/BSS systems and third-party platforms
- Act as a technical liaison between customers and internal teams such as R&D, product management, and support to facilitate effective communication and issue resolution
- Deliver technical training sessions and knowledge transfer to customers, partners, and internal teams to enhance product understanding and effective deployment
- Provide post-sales support during deployment phases, including troubleshooting, configuration adjustments, and performance optimization to ensure customer satisfaction
- Gather customer feedback and insights to contribute to product roadmap discussions, helping shape future developments based on real-world needs
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience as a Field Applications Engineer, sales engineer, systems engineer, or network engineer within the broadband, telecom, or networking industry
- Comprehensive understanding of PON technologies (XGS-PON, GPON), Wi-Fi, VoIP, Ethernet switching, and IP networking
- Familiarity with broadband network design, including OLTs, ONTs, Wi-Fi CPEs, and network management protocols such as SNMP, NETCONF/YANG, TR-069, and TR-369
- Hands-on experience with lab testing, interoperability trials, and customer demonstrations
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% to customer sites, labs, and industry events
