They are seeking an energetic Business Development Representative to expand their market presence by identifying and securing general contracting opportunities in the multifamily housing sector, primarily focusing on the Austin, TX market.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue third-party general contracting opportunities in multifamily housing within target geographies, primarily focusing on the Austin, TX market
- Develop and sustain relationships with key industry stakeholders including developers, owners, brokers, and architects to foster new business opportunities
- Represent Roers Companies at industry events, regional conferences, and networking functions to enhance brand visibility and generate leads
- Lead the proposal and bid process for prospective clients, coordinating with preconstruction, estimating, and operations teams to develop competitive and compelling submissions
- Manage and report on a pipeline of leads, pursuits, and wins utilizing CRM tools to ensure consistent follow-up and tracking
- Provide market intelligence, competitive analysis, and insights to inform strategic planning and pricing strategies
- Serve as the primary contact during the business development phase, ensuring smooth transition of successful pursuits to the operational team for project execution
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal leadership to align business development efforts with company capacity, strategic goals, and growth initiatives
Requirements:
- Over five years of experience in business development or client-facing roles within the commercial construction industry
- Strong preference for those with multifamily housing experience
- A well-established network of developer and owner relationships in regions such as Arizona, Minnesota, Florida, or Texas
- Proven track record of sourcing and securing profitable third-party construction contracts
- Comprehensive understanding of the general contracting process, including preconstruction, estimating, and project delivery methods
- Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- High level of motivation, independence, and results-driven mindset
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, business, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory if equivalent experience is demonstrated
