We are entering our next phase of growth: moving upmarket and strengthening our New Logo ARR growth engine. This requires a Principal Product Marketing Manager who can connect market insight to product strategy and revenue outcomes.
The Mission
DoorLoop is hiring a hands-on US Payroll Manager to run accurate, on-time, and compliant bi-weekly US payroll in Rippling for a multi-state workforce, ensure payroll tax and benefits accuracy, and deliver clean reconciliations and month-end close support in close partnership with People Operations and Finance. In this role, you will bring deep Rippling expertise, strong knowledge of multi-state and US payroll taxes, and a reconciliation-first, controls-oriented mindset.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end bi-weekly US payroll execution in Rippling for a multi-state workforce, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and strong operational controls.
- Partner with People Operations, Finance, and functional leaders to manage a disciplined intake and approval process for all payroll-impacting changes, ensuring complete and on-time inputs each cycle.
- Maintain payroll data integrity and configuration in Rippling, including employee setup, state and local withholding, and updates driven by employee lifecycle and compensation changes.
- Own the operational payroll tax process in coordination with the payroll provider, including support for filings and deposits, readiness for new states, and end-to-end management of tax notices and corrections through documented closure.
- Own payroll-side benefits operations in Rippling, including insurance and 401(k) deductions, employer contributions where applicable, and integrations/feeds, ensuring accurate payroll treatment and timely updates.
- Manage a Rippling-based workflow for variable compensation and reimbursements (bonuses, commissions, reimbursements), ensuring approvals, correct payroll tax treatment, and a clear audit trail.
- Complete post-payroll and month-end reconciliations (gross-to-net, liabilities, employer taxes, benefits/401(k), variable pay, reimbursements), investigate variances, and drive issues to resolution within defined timelines.
- Prepare month-end close schedules and supporting documentation, including payroll liability rollforwards and variance explanations, aligned with the Finance close calendar and audit requirements.
- Maintain Rippling governance and change control, including documenting configuration changes, managing permissions, and improving workflows to reduce manual work and recurring errors.
- Develop and maintain payroll SOPs, checklists, and cross-functional handoffs to ensure processes are clear, repeatable, and scalable.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll inquiries, providing timely, confidential, and solution-oriented support to employees and internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on US payroll experience with end-to-end ownership of payroll runs.
- Proven expertise in multi-state payroll operations and US payroll tax requirements (federal, state, and local), including handling notices and corrections.
- Deep hands-on experience with Rippling payroll, including configuration and workflow management, not only payroll processing.
- Broad experience with benefits, insurance, and 401(k) payroll mechanics, including deductions, employer contributions, and integrations/feeds.
- Strong reconciliation and controls capability, including experience preparing close-ready payroll schedules and audit-quality documentation.
- High attention to detail, strong ownership, and ability to operate independently under tight deadlines in a bi-weekly cadence.
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate inputs, approvals, and timelines across People Operations, Finance, and relevant managers.
Benefits
- Unlimited paid time off: take unlimited personal, sick, and vacation days.
- 401(k): plan for retirement with 4% matching and instant vesting.
