About this role
AppExert is a company that enables top remote developers to work with interesting tech companies worldwide. They are seeking a Sales Engineer to drive the successful adoption of their partner company’s platform, focusing on Building Management Systems, industrial automation, and HVAC systems.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with the sales team to support technical discussions with prospective customers, particularly in BMS, HVAC, and industrial automation environments
- Deliver technical product demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and solution walkthroughs aligned to real-world facility and production use cases
- Engage with customers to understand their existing infrastructure, control systems, and operational workflows during pre-sales and onboarding stages
- Support deployment and configuration of the platform within customer environments, ensuring seamless integration with BMS, HVAC systems, and production equipment
- Integrate platform components with IoT devices, sensors, controllers, and industrial systems using relevant communication protocols
- Provide technical guidance during onboarding, implementation, and early adoption phases
- Troubleshoot issues across automation systems, integrations, and deployments
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to relay field feedback, integration challenges, and customer requirements
- Assist in cloud and edge infrastructure setup, ensuring smooth data flow between systems
- Document deployment architectures, configurations, and best practices
- Identify opportunities to improve integration efficiency, deployment processes, and customer experience
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or Technical Implementation roles within BMS, industrial automation, or HVAC domains
- Strong hands-on experience with Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Strong hands-on experience with Industrial automation systems and production equipment
- Strong hands-on experience with HVAC systems and controls
- Solid understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, OPC, etc.) is highly preferred
- Experience with IoT systems, edge devices, and sensor integrations
- Good knowledge of software systems, APIs, and system integrations is a strong advantage
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), networking fundamentals, and Linux environments
