EXL is seeking a Task Mining Analyst who plays a critical role in understanding how work is performed at the user level across the enterprise. The role involves analyzing user-level activity data to uncover inefficiencies and identify opportunities for streamlining operations, requiring strong analytical and technical capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Perform data preparation, system instrumentation, and task‑mining configuration to collect high‑quality user‑level process data while ensuring all sources are properly integrated, validated, and aligned with discovery objectives; maintain data integrity and adherence to all security and privacy requirements
- Configure and run Power Automate Process Mining and other task‑mining tools to capture and analyze desktop‑level interactions, monitoring, and troubleshooting sessions for accuracy while reviewing task‑ and activity‑level data to identify performance patterns, variations, and gaps
- Create clear, detailed current‑state process maps using insights from mining tools, incorporating SME input to enhance accuracy, and document inefficiencies, bottlenecks, rework points, and root‑cause drivers within workflows
- Identify automation and digital transformation opportunities based on empirical task data, evaluate their potential impact on efficiency, accuracy, cycle time, and user experience, and synthesize findings into concise, executive‑ready insights that support informed decision‑making
- Work closely with cross‑functional partners—including Automation, IT, Operations, and Process Excellence—to validate insights and align on recommendations, present findings to leadership, and support enterprise‑wide process intelligence efforts and best‑practice development
Requirements:
- Strong hands‑on experience with Power Automate Process Mining and familiarity with additional task‑mining and process‑intelligence tools, such as UiPath Task Mining, Abbyy Timeline, Epiance, Celonis, or Automation Anywhere Discovery Bot
- Proficiency with process‑mapping tools, including Visio, Miro, Lucidchart, or BPMN‑based platforms
- Solid understanding of data preparation concepts such as event logs, timestamps, metadata, and data transformation
- Ability to interpret complex datasets and convert analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations
- Broad understanding of the insurance industry, including end‑to‑end business processes across areas like New Business, Operations, Customer Service, and F&A
- Experience identifying automation opportunities and supporting process‑improvement initiatives
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, especially when presenting insights to non‑technical audiences
- Highly detail‑oriented with strong organizational and documentation capabilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively and manage multiple workstreams in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment
- Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, or related field
- Experience working within Continuous Improvement, Process Excellence, or Automation CoE environments
- Insurance industry experience (P&C, Life and Annuities, Group Insurance, etc.)
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or BPM methodologies
