Strategic Employment Partners (SEP) is a well-established biospecimen company with over 20 years in the life sciences sector, seeking a Business Development Manager. This role involves owning a territory from prospecting to closing, engaging with scientific stakeholders, and driving business in a consultative sales environment.
Responsibilities:
- Own a territory end-to-end — from prospecting and relationship development through feasibility discussions, pricing, quoting, and close
- Build pipeline and navigate complex scientific conversations
- Drive business without a lot of hand-holding
- Engage biomarker scientists, translational research teams, and study leads
Requirements:
- Scientific fluency — you bring lab exposure, assay familiarity, or close proximity to translational research and can speak credibly with scientific stakeholders
- Established regional relationships — you have an existing network within pharma, biotech, or related research organizations in your territory
- Hunter mindset — this role is heavily focused on new business development, with a strong emphasis on self-generated pipeline
- Full-cycle sales ownership — you are comfortable managing the process from initial outreach through feasibility, pricing, quoting, and close
- Prior experience in biospecimen, CRO, or other life sciences services sales
- Experience supporting feasibility assessments and complex project scoping
- Scientist-to-commercial background strongly welcomed; former researchers or lab professionals who moved into sales can be an excellent fit
