About this role
Role Overview
The Business Development & Education Manager (BDEM) will have a primary focus in business and professional development plans designed to improve agency revenue and profitability.
The BDEM will work as part of a collaborative team to assist with the development and execution of the company’s online and in-person educational initiatives throughout the year and work to ensure that tasks are completed on-time and with a high degree of accuracy.
The BDEM will also take an active role in planning and executing regional and specialty educational events and online educational events for Nexion.
The Business Development & Education Manager reports directly to the Director of Business Development.
Assist in the development and execution of business development programs and regional, specialty, and online events.
Coordinate, prepare, facilitate, and instruct in collaboration with other staff for educational events that may be virtual or presented live as needed.
Support members by managing a group email in-box, answering questions on the community platform and assisting with escalated issues.
Tasks may include phone calls, small-group live webinars, in-person training on the use of tools, supplier partners, technology, marketing, and any other opportunities that may present.
Present and assist in the understanding of member benefits from Internova programs – with a focus on targeted ROI and goals for Nexion and Internova.
Monitor member performance of experienced advisors during and beyond the initial on-boarding period and follow through on a consistent basis.
Facilitates business consultations as part of the Business Success Journeys program.
Evaluates performance against established objectives.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
5 years travel industry experience, at least 2 years in a travel agency environment (preferred)
Experience in adult learning theory and curriculum development (preferred)
Strong organization, prioritization, & time management skills with a keen attention to detail (required)
Ability to work effectively with virtual teams, experience with virtual team environment (preferred)
Strong interpersonal skills
candidate should be a self-starter and be highly motivated
Ideal candidate must have a strong sense of urgency, outstanding project and time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong technical skills, proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point skills important) and agency tools preferred
A passion for working with travel advisors and helping them grow their business and someone who’s demonstrated success doing so
Ability to travel (up to 30%)
