Certitrek Group is the parent organization of the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts (IDFA), which focuses on supporting financial professionals and attorneys in navigating divorce financial complexities. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining partnerships with sponsors and institutions, driving revenue through proactive outreach and relationship management.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and secure new sponsors and institutional partners (broker-dealers, RIAs, financial institutions, and aligned organizations)
- Own and grow a portfolio of sponsors, including renewals, upsells, and new relationships
- Take ownership of conference sponsorship revenue
- Run full-cycle sales: outreach, discovery, proposals, negotiation, and close
- Maintain a clean, transparent pipeline in Zoho CRM with accurate stages, dates, and next steps
- Prepare proposals and contracts in coordination with leadership
- Build relationships with CFP Board–registered programs and other academic or continuing-education partners
- Introduce IDFA curriculum and credentialing options to program directors and decision-makers
- Launch structured outreach campaigns and secure at least one new academic partnership annually
- Serve as a knowledgeable, professional point of contact for institutional partners
- Recruit engaging speakers from sponsors, partners, and industry leaders
- Host webinars and treat them as revenue-generating events, with thoughtful follow-up that drives pipeline and bookings
- Coordinate webinar sponsorships and advertising opportunities
- Represent IDFA at conferences, expos, and industry events
- Coordinate event logistics with internal teams
- Run pre-conference outreach and schedule meetings in advance
- Attend events with intention—leaving with meaningful follow-ups and new opportunities
- Partner with Marketing to track ROI and improve future event strategy
Requirements:
- 3–7+ years of experience in B2B, sponsorship, or institutional sales (education, financial services, legal, or association experience is a plus)
- Enjoy prospecting and opening doors and see metrics as a tool to help you win bigger and get better support
- Can confidently sell to executives, marketing leaders, and program directors
- Know how to turn webinars and conferences into real pipeline and closed revenue
- Believe a clean CRM makes everyone's job easier and your success easier to support
- Are organized, proactive, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities
- Enjoy working remotely but value communication, collaboration, and accountability
- Bring a positive, professional energy and genuinely like working with people
- Experience with certification programs or continuing education
- Familiarity with financial planning, divorce, or family law
- Prior experience working with associations or credentialing bodies
