Ultimo, an IFS company, is seeking a Business Development Representative to drive outbound prospecting and lead development for their SaaS solution in asset management. The role involves engaging prospects, developing accounts, and collaborating with sales representatives to penetrate targeted accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Use various channels, such as calling, email, and social media, to engage prospects and qualify them as valid sales opportunities. Given the research and understanding of the prospect and Ultimo, engage in conversations of value
- Develop cold accounts into warm and targeted accounts through various efforts to provide value while aggressively targeting accounts within specific industries that Ultimo has identified
- Regularly communicate with sales representatives to review assigned accounts and make necessary adjustments. Work alongside Account Executives to set meetings and penetrate targeted accounts
- Maintain relationships with an assigned group of target accounts and develop value in working with Ultimo
- Understand the functional competitive advantages of the Ultimo solution set and customize messaging to gain traction in accounts
- Work through ‘Gatekeepers’ to gain access to the relevant person/s in the prospective organization hierarchy while understanding where the decision makers are located
- Work with pre-sales and marketing teams to develop the territory and identify high quality opportunities. Help Marketing implement account-based marketing campaigns based on account plans built in conjunction with sales, pre-sales, and marketing
- Keep accurate electronic records of calls and contacts and update prospect status within the contact management application
Requirements:
- A minimum of 1+ years of proven software telemarketing, business development, inside sales, or software sales experience
- Genuine curiosity about technology and what it solves for real businesses
- Confidence picking up the phone and opening a conversation with a senior professional
- Coachability and genuine drive to develop — you want to be challenged, not just comfortable
- Ability to ask open-ended questions to uncover needs, learn more about the prospect, and better qualify
- Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Highly coachable, willing to learn
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a specific emphasis on telephone skills
- Must be fluent in English
- Experience with contact management applications, such as SalesLoft or Outreach
- Candidates based in Boston, MA (or east coast preferred)
