EBSCO Information Services is a leader in providing optimized research experiences and is seeking a Senior User Experience Researcher to enhance the usability and accessibility of their research platforms. This role involves conducting user research to inform product strategy and improve tools for higher education and libraries worldwide.
Responsibilities:
- Autonomously own end-to-end research including planning, designing, and conducting qualitative and quantitative user research across the product lifecycle
- Translate complex research findings into clear, actionable insights and recommendations
- Partner with UX designers, product managers, and stakeholders to influence product direction and strategy
- Advocate for user-centered design principles and research best practices across teams
- Conduct usability testing, interviews, surveys, and field studies
- Synthesize findings into clear, structured deliverables such as research reports, personas, journey maps, and frameworks
- Advocate for accessibility, inclusivity, and equitable access to information in all research efforts
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in UX research, human-computer interaction, or a related field
- Strong foundation in both qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Experience translating ambiguous problem spaces into clear research direction
- Experience working in cross-functional product teams
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills
- A diverse portfolio that demonstrates impact across complex problem spaces
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Human-Computer Interaction, Library and Information Science, Psychology, Education, or a related field
- Experience conducting research with academic, library, or scholarly audiences
- Knowledge of information-seeking behavior, metadata, search relevance, or research evaluation practices
- Experience working with institutional stakeholders such as universities, consortia, or research organizations
