Metric Geo is seeking a high-impact Director of Global Sales & Business Development to lead revenue growth and expand market presence within the foundation drilling and heavy equipment sector. This strategic leadership role involves building a world-class sales organization and taking full ownership of global sales performance and key client relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute global sales strategies to drive revenue and market share growth
- Lead both direct and distributor sales channels across domestic and international markets
- Define and implement pricing strategies in collaboration with finance and product teams
- Track performance against KPIs and optimise execution to meet targets
- Position the business as a trusted, innovative supplier in the foundation equipment space
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing global sales team
- Create a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement
- Design and implement training programmes across product knowledge, negotiation, and CRM usage
- Develop succession plans and career pathways for top talent
- Oversee compensation, commission structures, and performance management
- Identify and secure new opportunities across LoDrills, TRs, LADs, and drilling systems
- Analyse market trends, competitors, and customer needs to shape strategy
- Lead go-to-market initiatives across multiple regions and product lines
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers and partners
- Own sales forecasting, budgeting, and divisional P&L
- Drive process improvements and ensure regulatory compliance
- Monitor key metrics including conversion rates and customer acquisition costs
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and service teams
- Lead complex negotiations with key accounts
- Review and approve contracts, ensuring legal and commercial alignment
- Oversee contract lifecycle management and documentation processes
- Leverage CRM and analytics tools (Dynamics preferred) to optimise performance
- Report progress and insights to executive leadership
Requirements:
- 8+ years in sales leadership within heavy equipment, construction machinery, or industrial sectors
- 3+ years in a senior leadership or business development role
- Proven success managing international sales teams and large-scale deals
- Strong background in commercial operations, budgeting, and forecasting
- Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen
- Exceptional leadership and team-building capability
- High integrity with a disciplined, process-driven approach
- Data-driven decision maker with pragmatic execution
- Advanced communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
- CRM proficiency (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field
- Exposure to manufacturing and equipment environments when required
- Must adhere to all safety standards and PPE requirements
- MBA preferred (not essential)
