BAE Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced Model Based Systems Engineering professional to join their Digital Architecture Team. The role involves leading MBSE development activities and contributing to the development of training materials and best practices while collaborating with various engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and integrate Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes and practices into the platform
- Lead MBSE development activities for programs
- Work with Systems Engineering teams, project design and development teams, and project management to achieve program objectives
- Contribute to the development of MBSE training materials and best practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline
- Minimum 4+ years of practical experience applying MBSE principles and techniques to complex systems
- Demonstrated experience leading MBSE activities on a program
- Proficiency in SysML
- Solid understanding of systems engineering principles and processes
- Ability to create and maintain system models
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance (if required by program)
- Master's Degree in Systems Engineering or related field
- 8+ years of practical experience applying MBSE principles and techniques
- Experience leading multiple MBSE efforts concurrently
- Experience in the defense industry, specifically with BAE Systems programs
- Strong proficiency in multiple MBSE modeling languages (SysML, UML, UAF, DoDAF/UPDM)
- Experience with MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler/MagicDraw, Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody)
- Familiarity with Digital Enterprise (DE) concepts and cloud-based technologies
- Experience with model federation and integration
- Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS)
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver training materials
- Experience mentoring junior engineers in MBSE principles
- Proven ability to influence and drive adoption of MBSE best practices
- Active security clearance
