Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe. They are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support the MODES III program by translating operational needs into actionable requirements and collaborating with stakeholders to prioritize development tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Provide senior business analysis and stakeholder liaison for MODES III, translating MC&FP operational needs into actionable requirements, acceptance criteria, and prioritized backlog items that drive development of IT, cybersecurity, and data capabilities
- Lead requirements elicitation and decomposition: conduct stakeholder workshops, user research, and process mapping to capture business rules, workflows, data needs, and performance targets for applications, dashboards, and integrations
- Produce and maintain key artifacts: user stories and epics with clear acceptance criteria and DoD ready traceability, process flows, system interface specifications, data dictionaries, and testable requirements aligned to quality management plan/program performance standards/AQLs
- Drive backlog prioritization and release planning: collaborate with PM, Scrum Masters, product owners, and engineering to prioritize work by mission impact, risk, and effort; ensure program task tracking tasks are reflected in backlogs and dashboards
- Enable test and acceptance: define test cases, support UAT planning and execution, validate acceptance criteria, and sign off deliverables for sprint and release acceptance; ensure results feed into weekly/monthly status reports and program dashboards
- Support data-driven decisions: work with data engineers and DBAs to specify required datasets, KPI definitions, data lineage, and reporting needs for MODES III dashboards and analytics; ensure linkage of metrics to program performance standards/AQLs
- Facilitate governance and compliance: ensure requirements capture compliance constraints (Section 508, RMF/ATO, privacy/CUI), document security/privacy requirements, and coordinate with CCM/SDEL for accreditation artifacts
- Mentor and lead BA practices: establish BA templates, acceptance criteria standards, requirements traceability matrix (RTM), and coach junior BAs to ensure consistent, high quality requirements across Tasks 2 and 3
Requirements:
- Active Secret clearance required
- Experience / Education: 10 years relevant experience with BS/BA degree or 8 years with MS/MA or 6 years with Phd or 14 years w/o a degree or 12 years with AS/AA degree
- Certifications: This role requires a demonstration of capability within the Cyberspace IT workforce. Successful applicants must satisfy Foundational Qualification standards via an approved industry certification (e.g., A+ or Network+) or documented equivalent military/educational training as defined in the DoD 8140 Qualification Matrix
- Eligible for Top Secret/SCI clearance
- Prior experience working in DoD or Federal government IT environments
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and iterative development practices
- Experience with cloud-native data pipelines, analytics platforms, or data lake architectures
- Familiarity with NIST RMF, ATO processes, and DoD security compliance frameworks
- CompTIA Security+
