Viterra Systems is a company based in Southern California that is currently hiring a Pipes & Fittings Sales Account Manager. The role involves identifying leads, developing new business opportunities, and maintaining strong relationships with customers in the agriculture, plumbing, irrigation, and construction industries.
Responsibilities:
- Seek, cultivate, and manage customer relationships, inside and outside the company
- Utilize sales reports and other data to recognize sales opportunities in customer buying patterns
- Create a cold call list and make cold calls to prospective customers
- Follow sales leads and schedule appointments with prospective customers
- Follow up with customers and provide solutions when product concern arises
- Provide training to customers and their teams on various product lines and company services
- Assist customers in the credit application process
- Serve as the first line of contact in the preparation of sales quotes and bid requirements
- Maintain quality prospecting calls on a continual basis including cold calls and in-person visitation
- Complete and deliver all required paperwork, expense reports, sales pipelines, forecasts, and contracts as required by the company policy and management
- Record and maintain all information, appointments, and opportunity information in the CRM system
- Represent and present company products at trade shows, events, and speaking engagements
- May need to travel overnight, as necessary, and attend all trade shows, sales events, and sales meetings
- Provide a detailed report of quotes not converted into actual orders, when requested
- Other duties and special projects as the need arises
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of sales experience, preferably within the Pipes & Fittings industry and with exposure to commercial projects
- Experience selling to distributors/wholesalers, contractors, fabricators, and municipal/utility buyers, including exposure to commercial/industrial bidding and submittal processes
- Working knowledge of building materials, the construction process, and local building codes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Highly motivated and target driven, with a proven sales track record
- Strong selling, communication, and negotiation skills
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Ability to create and deliver tailored presentations that meet the needs of different audiences
- Strong relationship building skills and openness to feedback and coaching
- Solid numerical skills and a proactive problem solving mindset

- Ability to perform effectively in a fast paced and sometimes high pressure environment
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering or related field or a combination of education and work experience
- Must have valid driver's license, own reliable transportation, be able to pass MVR check, and vehicle insurance must meet company's requirements
- Any formal training or education that demonstrates expertise in sales or customer engagement is strongly preferred: Certified Inside Sales Professional (CISP)
- Certified Professional Sales Person (CPSP)

- HubSpot Inbound Sales
- Certified Sales Leadership Professional (CSLP)
- Preferred industry training (optional): Plastic Pipe Institute (PPI) fundamentals or materials courses
- AWWA materials/installation courses (where applicable)
- Familiarity with NSF/ANSI potable water standard
- Fusion training/certification (butt fusion/electrofusion) for HDPE/MDPE applications
- Familiarity with sales tools and other related software
