
The Accountant II is responsible for providing a variety of alternatives in the resolution of complex or diverse problems. Acts as a resource in providing information to others. Is considered an expert in their area. Assimilates and analyzes detailed information and produces results. Recommends alternative approach toward problem solutions.
Exercises discretion and independent judgment in the performance of job duties. Will be responsible for Balance sheet reconciliation, journal entries, taxes, reconcile cash, prepare reports close general ledger. Developing more advanced accounting skills and knowledge. Ability to understand and evaluate internal controls and weaknesses to
determine appropriate action. Developing skills to move to asst. controller position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Others may be assigned.
Performs general accounting related activities, prepares journal entries, and reconciles balance sheet accounts
Responsible for cash management functions, including both daily & monthly reconciliation, refund processing and tracking
Responsible for month-end close process, including account variance analysis
Assists with monthly close with respect to physician compensation payments and accruals.
Preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations and posting of Journal entries per department checklist, in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
Performs onboarding and off boarding tasks/assignments per department checklist
Develops more advanced accounting skills and knowledge.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience required to perform the job.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field of study.
Requires 2-3 years experience in finance or accounting, experience with a multi-physician practices, is strongly preferred.
Healthcare background is strongly desirable.
Must have current knowledge and experience in finance concepts, practices, and procedures.
Strong proficiency in computer based programs such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Strong proficienty in building Excel spreadsheets, pivot tables, "V" look-ups and knowledge of General Ledger Accounting.
Excellent project management skills. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic work environment while remaining customer focused; willingness to take ownership and drive a project to completion.
Strong analytical skills. Ability to track, report and analyze data to ensure validity and consistency of programs and make data-based decisions and recommendations.
Ability to work well with other team members and consultants in remove offices
as well as independently.
Willingness to be flexible and adaptable in a complex, matrix environment
