This position is a member of our Financial Administration Division.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience working with automated query systems such as business object enterprise reports, Oracle, and/or Peoplesoft.
• Experience entering transaction data into USAS or journal entries into a different accounting system.
• Experience directing the processing of grant applications and awards related to the financial terms and conditions.
• Experience auditing and reviewing grant billing expenditure reports.
• Experience using MS Excel and Access.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
A bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting, finance, economics, business, or public administration from an accredited college or university, plus one year of experience where the majority of time was spent in accounting, auditing, or budgeting.
A graduate degree in accounting, finance, economics, business, or public administration may substitute for two years of the required experience.
OR
Five years of experience where the majority of time was spent in accounting, auditing, or budgeting.
OR
Certification as a public accountant (CPA).

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES
This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Accountant IV state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Accountant IV series.
WORK SCHEDULE
Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Financial Administration Division.
