Operations/Project Management - Business Analyst II.

VARITE INC is a global technology company known for its comprehensive range of software, cloud solutions, and hardware products. They are seeking an Operations/Project Management - Business Analyst II to develop cost estimates for data center projects, review contractor bids, and support commercial negotiations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop low voltage electrical estimates for data centre fit-out scopes (structured cabling, pathways, racks, containment, and associated systems)
• Review and validate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and translate them into detailed labour hour build-ups, productivity assumptions, and fully developed cost estimates
• Build parametric and conceptual cost models using limited inputs, including unit-based approaches (e.g., $/rack, $/MW, $/LF, $/port)
• Develop estimate line items, assumptions, and cost build-ups to support Class 4 and Class 5 estimates within a P70 contingency range
• Operate effectively in early-stage or incomplete design environments, developing estimates from minimal information
• Review, level, and analyse GC and subcontractor bids/proposals
• Develop and defend 'should-cost' positions using internal models and benchmarks
• Challenge labour assumptions, productivity rates, and markups
• Identify scope gaps, overlaps, and inefficiencies in contractor pricing
• Support or lead commercial negotiations to drive competitive and transparent outcomes
• Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
• Able to identify missing information, chase down inputs, and progress work independently
• Takes ownership of estimates from start to finish, including assumption validation and stakeholder coordination
• Works with limited oversight and high accountability
• Labor-driven estimates based on BOMs
• Parametric and conceptual cost models
• Bid levelling and comparative analyses
• 'Should-cost' models to support negotiations
• Assumptions logs, risk assessments, and contingency recommendations
• Clear, executive-ready cost summaries

Requirements:

• 5-10+ years of experience in electrical estimating, with a focus on low voltage systems
• Proven experience in data centre or mission-critical fit-out projects
• Strong capability in BOM-based estimating and labour build-ups, parametric modelling with limited design input, and negotiating with contractors and subcontractors
• Solid understanding of low voltage installation methods, labour productivity, contractor pricing structures, and market dynamics
• Advanced proficiency in Excel-based cost modelling
• Strong communication and influencing skills
