We are entering a critical phase of our hospital expansion, delivering an additional 82 beds across six new clinical units. To support this, we are seeking an experienced professional to join us in a six month fixed term, project-based role focused on the set up, delivery and planning of these new services.
This role will play a pivotal part in translating planning into operational readiness — supporting workforce mobilisation, service commencement and safe planning of the hospital expansion. This is a unique opportunity to contribute your expertise at a defining moment, helping shape how care is delivered from day one.
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Projects, the Project Manager – People & Systems will provide senior project leadership for a time critical operational planning program supporting hospital expansion. The role brings together workforce planning, people systems readiness and service commencement activity, ensuring new clinical units are safely staffed, enabled by fit for purpose systems and ready to operate from day one.
You will lead and coordinate a small multidisciplinary project team, with the following roles reporting into the project:
• P&C Business Partner
• Talent Acquisition Partner
• P&C Systems Administrator
• Onboarding Lead / Coordinator
Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will translate strategic and clinical planning into implementable workforce and systems solutions, managing interdependencies, risks and timelines across a complex healthcare environment.
Key responsibilities
• Lead end to end delivery of a 6 month operational planning project supporting hospital expansion and service planning
• Translate workforce plans into actionable recruitment, onboarding and people systems activities
• Oversee readiness of P&C systems, data and processes to support rapid workforce mobilisation
• Coordinate recruitment, onboarding and establishment of new clinical teams across multiple units
• Establish and maintain robust project controls including risks, dependencies, milestones and reporting
• Provide high quality advice, analysis and progress reporting to senior leaders and governance forums
• Engage closely with clinical leaders, operational managers and corporate partners to support safe, timely service planning
• Ensure documentation, governance and assurance requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle
About you
You are a confident and pragmatic project leader with experience delivering complex people focused projects in healthcare or similarly regulated environments. You bring strong systems thinking, are comfortable working at pace, and can influence across clinical, operational and corporate stakeholder groups.
You will bring:
• Demonstrated experience leading complex projects involving workforce planning, people systems or service commencement
• Strong understanding of recruitment, onboarding and HR / P&C systems in large organisations
• Proven ability to translate strategy and plans into practical, operational outcomes
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• High levels of organisation, judgement and resilience in fast moving environments
