Hai Robotics is revolutionizing warehouse automation with intelligent robotics systems. The Field Services Engineer I is responsible for providing on-site technical support for robotic automation systems, focusing on system monitoring, troubleshooting, and customer interaction.
Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site system inspections, robot start-ups and shutdowns, hardware replacements, cable and sensor checks, and basic diagnostics in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Support live warehouse operations by assisting with robot recovery, system resets, offline mode execution, and coordination with customer operations teams to minimize downtime
- Assist with project go-lives, pilot phases, and stabilization periods by supporting testing, validation, and system tuning under the direction of implementation and support teams
- Monitor system alarms, error codes, and alerts; collect logs, photos, and on-site data for analysis
- Perform first-level troubleshooting and issue triage before escalating complex issues to Remote Support Engineers or senior field engineers
- Develop a working knowledge of robot hardware, system topology, alarm structures, and WES/WCS task flows to support effective diagnostics and communication with the remote support team
- Read and interpret system layouts, electrical and mechanical drawings, and equipment maps to validate installation accuracy, identify discrepancies, and support troubleshooting activities
- Maintain accurate service records by documenting issues, corrective actions, parts used, and site status in CRM systems, ticketing tools, and daily site reports
- Adhere to Hai Robotics service standards, customer site rules, and all safety procedures while working in active warehouses and industrial environments
Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on technical experience
- Entry-level exposure to robotics, automation, or industrial equipment with the ability to follow structured troubleshooting and service procedures
- Ability to read technical drawings, layouts, and equipment documentation
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical teams and customer operations staff
- Willingness to travel, work flexible hours, and support customer sites during production ramps, go-lives, and system events
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and must provide proof of eligibility upon hire in accordance with federal regulations
- Experience with AGVs, AMRs, ACRs, or other robotic automation systems
- Familiarity with warehouse systems such as WMS, WES, or WCS
- Exposure to PLCs, Linux-based diagnostics is a plus, but not required
