Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated Mechanical Sourcing professional with 6–8 years of experience in strategic sourcing and procurement of mechanical components for the Aerospace & Defence industry. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of machining, casting, sheet metal, and stamping components, along with expertise in supplier development, cost optimization, and project execution.
Key Responsibilities

Source and procure mechanical components including
Sheet Metal, Machining, Casting, and Stamping
parts.

Evaluate supplier capabilities, negotiate commercial terms, and ensure timely procurement to support production requirements.

Develop new suppliers and manage the complete vendor development and part development process.

Review RFQs, technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure supplier capability and compliance.

Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Suppliers during RFQ, NPI, and project execution.

Perform cost analysis and identify cost reduction opportunities through value engineering, alternate sourcing, process improvements, and commercial negotiations.

Drive supplier performance in terms of Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Responsiveness (QCD).

Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time availability of materials and components for production.

Ensure compliance with Aerospace & Defence quality standards, customer requirements, and purchasing procedures.

Maintain sourcing documentation, supplier records, and procurement reports.
Required Skills & Competencies

Strong exposure to the
Aerospace & Defence
industry, including product knowledge and technical requirements.

Hands-on experience in sourcing
Machining, Casting, Stamping, and Sheet Metal
components.

Good understanding of component manufacturing processes, costing, and supplier capability assessment.

Experience in Vendor Development, Supplier Qualification, and Part Development.

Strong commercial negotiation and supplier management skills with the ability to achieve cost, quality, and delivery targets.

Knowledge of cost reduction methodologies such as value engineering, alternate material/process evaluation, and supplier benchmarking.

Good understanding of
ISO
and
AS
quality standards applicable to Aerospace & Defence.

Knowledge of purchasing processes, procurement documentation, and supply chain practices.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with suppliers, customers, and cross-functional internal teams.

Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Experience
-
Experience working with Aerospace & Defence OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, or precision engineering companies.

Exposure to reading engineering drawings, GD&T, manufacturing processes, and technical specifications.

Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications will be an added advantage.
