Sales Account Manager - West Coast

MycoFold Inc. is a Seattle, WA-based protein engineering company that utilizes AI/ML tools and high-throughput screening techniques for drug discovery and therapeutic development. They are seeking a driven Sales Account Manager to expand their customer presence in early-stage biotech and related fields in the Greater San Diego region, managing the full sales cycle and building relationships with customers.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement your sales strategy for the West Coast region, identifying, prospecting, and qualifying new leads among early-stage biotech’s, CROs, translational labs, and cell line developers with an initial focus on the local San Diego biotech corridor (e.g. Torrey Pines, Sorrento Valley, La Jolla)
• Manage customer pipeline using our established CRM (PipeDrive) and lead generation tools (e.g. SciLeads), from first contact to deal closing
• Build and maintain relationships with existing customers to drive repeat orders, account penetration, and account growth
• Understand customer applications needs and painpoints well enough to recommend the right products (recombinant cytokines/growth factors)
• Feed learnings from the field to shape future marketing initiatives such as new product collateral, outreach campaigns, conference presence, and lead-generation initiatives
• Represent MycoFold at scientific conferences, trade shows, and on-site visits with customers in the West Coast area and beyond (e.g., AACR, Meeting on the Mesa)
• Track and report on pipeline health, conversion metrics, and progress against revenue targets
• Provide customer feedback to leadership to inform product and pricing strategy
• Stay current on the competitive landscape to sharpen positioning

Requirements:

• Degree in Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry or similar subject
• 3–5 years of sales experience, ideally in life sciences, laboratory products, or a related B2B technical sales environment
• Prior sales experience specifically selling recombinant proteins, cytokines, or growth factors selling into one or more of the following cell biology application areas: iPSC differentiation and maintenance, organoid generation, BMDM generation, microglial differentiation, routine cell culture and maintenance, and serum free culture
• Hands-on wet lab experience (academic, industry, or CRO setting): you should be able to speak from firsthand experience about how these reagents are used at the bench
• Professional selling skills when identifying customer needs and recommending appropriate solutions
• Strong CRM discipline and pipeline management habits
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter mentality; comfortable operating remotely and autonomously while managing a defined territory
• Proven track record of expanding territory sales through account growth and penetration
• Currently living in the Greater San Diego, CA metro area, with ability to travel locally for in-person customer visits and regional events
• Must be prepared to travel extensively up to 50% of the time within the territory (some overnight travel required)
• Ph.D. preferred but not required
• Comparable experience in the laboratory and/or technical sales may be considered
