Execute and oversee month-end close processes in accordance with US GAAP
Prepare and review journal entries
Perform and review balance sheet and key P&L account fluctuations
Ensure close timelines are met with a high degree of accuracy and documentation
Review accounting working papers and schedules prepared by other team members for completeness and accuracy
Ensure consistent application of accounting policies and procedures
Support internal and external audit activities, including PBC requests and audit inquiries
Partner with the VP of Finance to address complex or judgmental accounting matters
Collaborate with FP&A, payroll, tax, and operations teams to ensure accurate reporting of financial data
Document key accounting processes to support continuity and knowledge transfer
Support special accounting initiatives as needed (e.g., system enhancements, policy updates, transaction support)
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent professional experience
Minimum of 7 to 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for month end and quarter end close in a U.S. GAAP reporting environment
Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial statement preparation, and disclosure requirements
Demonstrated experience supporting audit intensive environments, including external audit readiness and rigor around documentation and controls. Public company experience considered an asset
Experience preparing and reviewing complex accounting areas, including revenue recognition, accruals, and estimates requiring professional judgment
Proven ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and meet demanding reporting timelines
High level of attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and disciplined documentation practices
