The Accounting Manager serves as a key partner to the Controller and contributes to building scalable processes that support continued organizational growth
This role oversees the accounting operations including payroll preparation process and accounts payable, as well as assists in month end close process which includes P&L analysis, preparation of complex reconciliations and review of expenses related work papers
Prepare revenue analysis and related reconciliations, such as deferred revenue, for one brand
Prepare and post adjusting journal entries with appropriate documentation and analysis
Manage and review expense activity within the Profit & Loss statement to ensure proper classification and accuracy
Monitor internal reporting timelines and ensure team adherence to delivery due dates
Review workpapers prepared by team members for completeness, consistency, and accuracy
Oversee monthly expense fluctuation analysis, identifying variances and ensuring proper explanations and support
Oversee daily accounting operations, including payroll processing, accounts payable, credit card transactions, 1099 preparation, and employee expense processing
Supervise the AP and credit card workflow, ensuring timely processing, accuracy, and adherence to company policies
Manage payroll processing end-to-end, ensuring timely and accurate pay cycles and proper compliance documentation
Experience with state and local tax (SALT) filing activities, including registrations, periodic filings, and compliance monitoring
Directly manage Staff Accountant
Maintain employee department allocations and ensure coding accuracy across payroll and expense transactions
Oversee AP and Credit Card workflow
Manage expenses and ensure proper coding
Support team development by providing training, process guidance, and ongoing coaching to staff
Requirements
CPA or CMA Required
Public accounting experience is strongly desired
7+ years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to both transactional and month-end close processes
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related business field
Experience managing accounting staff
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage high-volume workflows with accuracy
Technical Accounting Expertise – Strong knowledge of GAAP, deferred revenue, adjusting journal entries, SALT filings, and month-end close requirements
Financial Analysis & Reconciliation Skills – Ability to perform and review complex reconciliations, analyze expense fluctuations, and ensure accurate P&L management
Systems Proficiency – Advanced proficiency with Intacct and strong competency with other accounting and payroll systems
Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partners closely with the Controller and interfaces effectively with internal teams
Organizational & Time Management Skills – Ability to juggle multiple priorities, meet rigid month-end timelines, and maintain structured documentation
Regulatory & Compliance Awareness – Ensures accuracy and compliance in payroll, tax filings, and financial processes
