Provide strategic leadership in all aspects of the operations for the City’s Transfer Station network and logistics operations.
Lead the Section’s Transfer Stations and Logistics Managers.
Develop and implement long-term strategies, initiatives and operational programs.
Manage budgets, ensuring expenditures remain within approved limits.
Develop strategic materials such as presentations, briefing notes, business cases, and Council reports.
Lead procurements and negotiation activities in compliance with City policies.
Represent the Division in engagements with Council, Committees, external agencies, municipalities, utilities, unions, and community groups.
Drive initiatives to enhance operational efficiency while supporting organizational change management.
Requirements
Post-secondary education in a professional discipline pertinent to the job function or an equivalent combination of relevant training and/or experience.
Extensive experience leading, managing, and implementing multi-disciplinary operational programs and contracts of varying scope.
Extensive experience leading, supervising, motivating, and coaching teams of operations professionals in a unionized environment.
Extensive experience making critical, strategic decisions that demonstrate innovation, results-oriented leadership.
Extensive experience in managing complex issues and influencing diverse stakeholders.
Extensive experience preparing written reports, correspondence, briefing notes, presentations, and strategic documents for senior management and stakeholders.
