Executes and supports the nursing strategic plan to accomplish organizational goals and achieve targeted outcomes.
Provides enterprise strategic vision, development, and ongoing evolution for Advocate Health’s enterprise nursing workforce and patient placement capacity centers.
Ensures the patient care delivery models, clinical, and staffing standards are consistent with current best practice standards, compliant with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards and aligned with the Mission, Vision, and Values of Advocate Health and in collaboration with other enterprise and divisional leaders.
Leads nursing quality and safety initiatives to achieve top decile performance level and uses evidence-based best practice standards to enhance patient transfer operations.
Prepares operational and capital budgets for nursing assigned areas and supports hospital leaders where nursing services are provided at the hospitals of support.
Builds strong, collaborative partnerships between functional areas, including but not limited to HR, Quality, Compliance, IT and Finance to deliver strong operational performance and establishes credibility and trust throughout the system nursing enterprise including but not limited to individual system hospital CNOs, CEOs, clinical staff, corporate peers, and corporate boards through a variety of communication strategies.
Provides strategic direction for enterprise macro level transfer center operations ensuring operational processes are timely, effective and transformational including capacity management, resource allocation, and issue resolution.
Executes large-scale initiatives by partnering with technology, operations, and workforce leaders to continually improve patient flow and operational staffing efficiencies with consideration for cost containment.
Engage frontline nurses, leaders, interprofessional teams, technology partners, and vendors to foster collaboration.
Model ethical decision-making, integrity, and accountability consistent with the ANA Code of Ethics and AONL standards.
Promote nursing excellence through Magnet® and Pathway principles, professional development, and advancement of evidence-based practice.
Utilize data analytics and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and demonstrate value.
Requirements
Active registered nurse (RN) license in states of practice and Advanced Nurse Executive Certification required.
Masters in Nursing or related field required.
Typically requires 10 years of progressive experience in healthcare leadership.
Three to five years of direct-patient-care nursing experience.
Excellent written and oral communications including strong presentation/speaking skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of leadership and staff.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, leadership, critical-thinking and decisions-making skills.
Strong operational, financial and business acumen.
