Responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive technology strategy for clinical trial and RWD&E offerings.
Oversee the management and optimization of critical technology systems, such as Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS), electronic data capture (EDC) systems, databases, and electronic regulatory (eReg) systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize data entry, integration, and interoperability between clinical systems, research databases and repositories.
Maintain compliance with data privacy, protection and security requirements, ensuring all IT systems and protocols adhere to industry standards & regulations.
Co-lead harmonization efforts across Operations and Technology departments to ensure cohesive integration of processes and systems / tech solutions.
Monitor the performance of IT systems and manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers, using data-driven insights to guide improvements and strategic planning.
Assess the costs, value and risks of information technology to advise management on actions and investments in technologies.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Typically requires 10 years in IT leadership roles within healthcare or clinical research with progressive leadership experience.
In-depth knowledge of clinical systems (e.g., EHR, CTMS, EDC, ePRO, eReg) and infrastructure, including cloud-based applications and storage.
Expertise in strategic planning, tech roadmap development, and implementation.
Previous working experience navigating within large, matrixed organizations as well as early stage or startup environments a plus.
Deep understanding of current and emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., data privacy, security).
Proficient in data acquisition, verification, integration, and cybersecurity.
