Outside Sales Manager – Hardware and Lumber

Role Overview

• Responsible for leading a sales team to grow sales in the region
• Ensure that costs are in control and affect a high level of employee drive
• Provide quality training for the sales force
• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Outside Sales Representatives
• Join team on field sales calls, providing feedback
• Provide ongoing training and development towards the sales team
• Hold direct selling responsibility for a set of customer accounts
• Direct and monitor all sales activities for the region
• Manage individual sales representative performance
• Establish and monitor a proper product mix to maximize gross margin
• Coordinate promotions with the sales and marketing teams
• Organize and lead Regional Sales Meetings

Requirements

• Experience leading an outside sales team within the building materials industry
• A strong, prestige-less, hands-on leader and educator
• Proactive and autonomous, also working well as part of a larger team
• Developed analytical, planning, and monitoring skills
• Experience in effectively utilizing and promoting the usage of a CRM system
• This position may occasionally involve lifting/pushing/carrying up to 50 pounds
