Provides technical expertise and analytical support across a range of power system topics within the electric utility industry, including transmission system performance, field effects, and related engineering disciplines.
Serves as a key technical resource for the Company by delivering analyses, responding to internal and external inquiries, supporting field investigations, and contributing to the development of standardized tools, processes, and training aligned with evolving industry standards and technologies.
Collaborates cross-functionally to develop and implement standardized tools, templates, and processes.
Prepares and presents technical analysis to internal and external stakeholders using standardized tools, templates, and software.
Participates in engineering analysis and cross-functional implementation efforts to ensure conformance with evolving technical requirements and industry practices.
Evaluates emerging technologies that can improve safety, efficiency, performance, and operational effectiveness.
Responds both verbally and in writing, to internal and external inquiries relating to transmission system performance, field effects, and related topics.
Conducts field measurements using standardized procedures and prepares clear, accurate technical reports.
Develops and delivers training to enhance technical knowledge across engineering and other internal organizations.
Participates in meetings, training, and industry forums to maintain awareness of current and emerging technical standards relevant to electric transmission systems.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; power system, electro physics, and/or electromagnetics coursework preferred. (Relevant, equivalent experience and/or education may be considered.)
Minimum of two (2) years related engineering experience for Intermediate Level.
Minimum of five (5) years related engineering experience for Senior Level.
Knowledge of electric utility system operations, planning, protection, design, construction and/or maintenance functions preferred.
Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards including the National Electric Safety Code.
Experience with electric and magnetic field effects, radio noise, induction, and stray voltage preferred.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access).
Experience with PLS-CADD and PLS-GRID preferred.
Experience using CDEGS or similar software to analyze electric and magnetic fields of transmission lines.
Sound analytical problem-solving and documentation skills.
Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with individuals inside and outside the Company.
Able to multi-task and work under minimal supervision in a team environment.
