The Project Controls Senior Field Engineer supports the Project Controls Manager and the operations team throughout all phases of construction, responsible for developing construction work steps and scope trackers.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews project drawings and specifications thoroughly to document construction work steps and sequences
- Participates in project kickoff meetings
- Leads scope review conversations with internal project stakeholders to document and organize who, how, what, and where for the execution of responsible scope
- Participates in internal team meetings to clarify project requirements and present findings
- Collaborates with the engineering team to interpret design intent
- Collaborates with estimating to interpret constructability intent
- Collaborates with the field supervisors to ensure recognition of design and constructability intent and to identify conflicts from those with budget (estimate), schedule, or material quantities with the operational intent
- Attends site meetings and conducts site walks to document progress and execution status
- Receives guidance from the Project Controls Manager
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned
Requirements:
- 5-10 years' experience in drafting, preconstruction engineering, electrical field supervision, or related job experience
- Proficiency in construction software
- Proficient in the necessary software, including Microsoft Suite, Google Sheets, Bluebeam Studio, and Revit
- Independent decision-making
- Critical thinking skills
- Ability to interpret construction process from engineering documents
- Application of constructability means and methods to the documentation of scope
- Ability to collaborate with diverse teams, both on-site and in the office
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
- Ability to work typical hours between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday, with flexibility to work at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs
- Technical Associate, Bachelor's Degree, or a related technical certification is preferred (EIT, PE, BSCM)
