Tetra Tech is expanding its U.S. commercial nuclear and small modular reactor (SMR) business and is seeking an experienced sales and business development professional to help drive that growth. This role focuses on hands-on selling, opportunity development, and closing work, supported by Tetra Tech’s deep nuclear engineering and licensing expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Build, manage, and mature a qualified sales pipeline with U.S. nuclear utilities and SMR / advanced reactor developers
- Convert opportunities into booked engineering, licensing, and regulatory services work
- Grow assigned accounts through repeat engagements and expanding scope over time
- Carry clear bookings and revenue accountability, scaled appropriately to level
- Originate and shape opportunities—often ahead of formal RFPs—while also winning competitive pursuits
- Engage utility engineering leaders, licensing managers, project directors, and, when appropriate, executive stakeholders
- Translate technical capabilities into clear, compelling commercial value propositions
- Lead capture planning, proposal strategy, pricing input, and negotiation support
- Maintain ownership of key client relationships through award and early delivery phases
- Bookings and revenue vs. targets
- Pipeline quality and conversion
- Priority pursuit win rate
- Account growth (utilities & SMRs)
- Client satisfaction and repeat work
Requirements:
- 7–12+ years in sales, business development, or client-facing roles within the U.S. commercial nuclear industry
- Proven experience selling engineering, licensing, regulatory, or technical services (not products)
- Working knowledge of U.S. commercial nuclear operations and NRC licensing pathways
- Existing relationships at the manager, director, or VP level within nuclear utilities or SMR developers
- Ability to independently manage pursuits from qualification through contract award
- Experience supporting license renewal, life extension, new nuclear, or SMR programs
- Exposure to advanced reactor developers or emerging nuclear technologies
- Familiarity with utility procurement and contracting processes
- Engineering background; advanced degree is a plus
