Canton Biologics is a leading company in the biotech sector, seeking a Senior Business Development Manager / Director to drive strategic growth on the East Coast. The role involves developing client relationships, leading proposal negotiations, and representing the company at industry events.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a regional growth strategy for the East Coast, focusing on biotech, pharmaceutical, and emerging therapeutics companies
- Drive acquisition of new clients for FyoniBio’s CDMO/CRO and analytical service portfolio
- Build and nurture long-term, trust-based relationships with key decision-makers, including C-suite executives, project leads, and scientific stakeholders
- Provide strategic market feedback to guide portfolio development, pricing strategies, and competitive positioning
- Represent FyoniBio in high-level customer meetings, virtual and on-site, including scientific and commercial presentations tailored to client needs
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, ensuring timely, solutions-oriented communication
- Lead project discussions with prospective clients, bridging scientific and commercial perspectives
- Act as Account Director for key U.S. accounts and signed projects, ensuring continuity and customer satisfaction
- Lead preparation and refinement of proposals, pricing strategies, and scopes of work in close coordination with internal scientific and operational teams
- Conduct advanced technical and commercial negotiations with clients to close opportunities
- Oversee the transition from sales to project execution, ensuring internal alignment on timelines, resources, and deliverables
- Continuously monitor U.S. market trends, customer pipelines, and competitive dynamics
- Identify emerging therapeutic modalities or service gaps where FyoniBio can position new or expanded offerings
- Contribute to annual business planning and provide data-driven insights to senior leadership
- Represent FyoniBio at major U.S. conferences, partnering events, and scientific/industry networking opportunities (e.g., BIO International, PEGS, AAPS)
- Strengthen FyoniBio’s visibility and reputation within the U.S. biotech ecosystem
Requirements:
- Advanced scientific degree (M.Sc., Ph.D., or equivalent) in biochemistry, biotechnology, biology, or related field; MBA is a plus
- 5–10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships within CDMO/CRO, bioanalytical services, biologics development, or related segments
- Strong understanding of biopharmaceutical development workflows, analytical methods, and/or bioassay services
- Established network within the East Coast biotech/pharma sector
- Demonstrated success in closing complex scientific service projects
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote U.S. environment while collaborating closely with European teams
- Willingness to travel across the East Coast and occasionally to Europe
