Direct and manage programs for the entire grounds of the golf course.
- Provides general management directions to all department employees.
- Oversees maintenance of perimeter of club property and golf course.
- Oversees planning and logistics of personnel and equipment, ensuring daily maintenance tasks are accomplished.
- Maintains records of fertilizer and pesticide applications, weather data, maintenance procedures, and inventory.
- Supervises and aids in planting and cultural practices involved in growing various turf grasses, trees, and ornamental plants.
- Aids in management of all golf course construction and/or renovation projects.
- Manages, oversees, and maintains standards of personnel appearance and conduct.
- Coaches and counsels’ employees as needed.
- Performs general golf course equipment maintenance as needed.
- Supervise department and have input into hiring/termination/performance decisions.
- Work involves frequent exposure to extreme cold, extreme heat, moisture, smoke, and toxic/caustic chemicals.
- Work requires frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and balancing.
- Work requires lifting and carrying objects up to 50 lbs.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Five (5) years of golf maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Associate’s degree or vocational certification in a related field preferred.
- Two (2) years of leadership experience preferred.
- State Pesticide Applicators License/Certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of agronomy and turf grass management.
- Knowledge of general golf maintenance equipment preventative repair measures.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
