The role of Discipline Engineering and Technical Governance Senior Manager involves leading global discipline engineering capabilities, ensuring technical excellence, and managing a team of discipline engineers to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Acts as the discipline engineering and technical backbone of the organization, ensuring that discipline engineering is not only correct and safe, but competitive, protected, and consistently delivered at high quality across both projects and in support of operating assets
- Leads the global discipline engineering capability and establishes robust technical governance across the full project and asset lifecycle
- Accountable for defining engineering standards, ensuring technical excellence, and enforcing consistent design and execution practices across regions and projects
- Drives competitiveness through optimized design, cost efficiency, and standardization, while safeguarding the company’s intellectual property and proprietary know-how embedded in technologies, specifications, and execution methods
- Manages and develops a global team of discipline engineers, providing mentoring, coaching, and technical guidance to build a strong and sustainable internal capability, while effectively leveraging externally sourced engineering resources as part of a flexible delivery model
- Provides discipline engineering support to operating assets when required, ensuring technical challenges are resolved timely and effectively and that operational insights are captured and embedded into engineering standards and practices
- Ensures that discipline leads to delivering high-quality, consistent, and fit-for-purpose engineering deliverables across all project phases, maintaining alignment with company standards, project requirements, and best practices
